Sports day...cancelled. Oakwood...cancelled. Cardiff City penalty shooutout....cancelled. It is meant to be July! It is meant to be suncream weather, ice cream weather, outdoor weather! But panic we won't, as I'm sure (huge fingers crossed), we will get most of our activities in before the end of term!
On Friday, after the horrific weather spoilt our Oakwood trip, we decided to have an action packed sports day in Year 6 - A Euro 2012 football tournament, a Wimbledon tennis tournament and even a big game of hide and seek!
We have also been designing a board game as part of our topic work on Iceland - I don't think any of us realised what an amazing country it is! This week, our project is to make a tourism TV advert, aiming to attract visitors to Iceland!
Only 10 days left in school, and we have still got a little bit to fit in yet....sports day, Oakwood, Year bowling, bird boxes, Bryn Celynnog sports day, school reports, maths, English, Iceland....Salem!
Will we fit it all in? Of course we will!!

Design & Technology Day
Today, our Year 6 children took part in a design and technology day as part of our studies on habitats. The day was organised into four parts:
Building a bird box with staff from B&Q, Culverhouse Cross.
Learning about woods and trees with Mrs Reville.
A tools and DT skills workshop with Mr Raymond.
Making a bird feeder with Miss Beynon.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially the chance to have a go with some powerful machinery with the B&Q staff! A huge thank you must be paid to Mrs Reville for organising the day, and the wonderful input from Gareth and Kirsty from B&Q Culverhouse Cross. Their expertise and advice were invaluable.

ASDA Kwik Cricket Finals Day
Tomorrow, our school cricket team represent RCT at the Welsh finals day at Cardiff CC. This is a huge achievement for out school, and we are all very proud of the squad! Here they are:
Sam Price: Technically correct batsman who knows the game very well, we will be looking to Sam to score us lots of runs and bowl tidily.
Lewys Evans: Left handed batsman and express pace bowler, Lewys is our wicket machine!
Annwen Gammon: Very accurate bowler, excellent fielder and hits the ball hard when she bats!
Bethan Gammon: The team wicket keeper who also bowls very accurately, also loves hitting 4's and 6's!
Jake Hemburrow: Quick bowler, athletic fielder and runs really quickly between the wickets!
Henry Mugridge: Very tidy bowler, powerful batsman and a really good catcher of the ball!
Lloyd Bevan: Excellent right armed bowler, safe fielder and tidy batsman!
Ioan Fletcher: Probably the biggest hitting batsman in the squad, Ioan is renowned for smashing lots of 6's!
Jak Shearan: Accurate bowler, steady batsman, and the team joker!
Ioan Davies & Joe Blackmore: Might be needed as back up players on the day, wont let anybody down if called upon!
Go Gwauncelyn!
